The Ideas Of Great Minds Never Die!

I'm sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
I've had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
Money for dope
Money for rope
No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
Money for dope
Money for rope
I'm sick to death of seeing things
From tight-lipped, condescending, mama's little chauvinists
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth now
I've had enough of watching scenes
Of schizophrenic, ego-centric, paranoiac, prima-donnas
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth
No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
It's money for dope
Money for rope Ah,
I'm sick and tired of hearing things
from uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth now
I've had enough of reading things
by neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth now
Just gimme some truth now

Lyrics taken from John Lennon
The song was on the great album "Imagine" (1971)
John Lennon was one of the best musicians and thinkers of all time.
Although I obviously didnt write this I still find it to be good addition to my Blog.

One of my all-time favorite Lennon songs.

After re-reading the lyrics, I think it's time that song was re-released.

Hi Noah,
Lennon was truly a man of great wisdom as well as peaceful, courageous and brilliant. I wasn't crazy about Yoko, but he obviously was. His words mean as much today as they did in the time they were written. I think his greatest joy was his kids. I will end this comment by saying that raising you and your sister has been the greatest joy(s) of my life.

Great lyrics, Noah! Lennon was indeed a great mind of our time.

Not a bad singer/songwriter/musician too, eh!

I used to walk past “Strawberry Fields” in Central Park (the place where he was shot) and think of his music and what he tried to get people to think about. Several times I was insulted by people who were partying, since I was the “guy in the suit” and they were the “cool ones”. This made me sad. Certainly we could use a man with his vision and approach today. Unfortunately they are few and far between. I keep hoping though…

And Ticky Dick crucified John for just this defiance.
We he here with us today John would be out in front again supporting the call for truth.
